A guided walk to Redgate, then Contos and onto Lake Cave, Approx. 15km

We take transport to Baudin Drive at Gnarabup, 12km, To reach the Cape to Cape path up to the Leeuwin Ridge national park through native bush and emerging top of the 300 steps that lead down to Boodginup brook there are lovely views here of Indian ocean and surrounding bush, these steps where kindly built by the friends of the cape to cape. At the bottom, there is a lovely shaded area and then cross the bridge (again arranged by the cape to cape friends) then follow the brook to the coast and some lovely picturesque views here of the brook mouth.

Here we turn south and walk on the beach to Redgate beach car park, Across the smaller beach we find the Path up into the peppi trees, along the cliffs eventually arriving at Bobs Hollow, here an erected Chain rail helps us climb down and follow a path until we turn and see the cliffs and cave of Bobs Hollow, we start to climb up carefully on the man-made steps for us and get closer to the Cave, however its advised not to go inside the cave as Limestone can easily come loose. Up again we climb to the cliff top and a path meanders along the top with fantastic views of Indian Ocean and limestone Cliffs most of the way to Contos Beach. There are a couple of benches on this way to admire these views.

Soon now we will reach the road, we enter the Contos camping area and then find the pretty forested path to Lake Cave where there is an option to go for a hours tour of the cave, as you are here. a café and a shop.

There is an option to vary this walk – same walking distance though starting at Redgate beach and walking further into Boranup forest at the end.

We will get transport from here back to town.

Then we will go to a very nearby Micro Brewery and have a Cool beer or a coffee.

Entrance fees for a guided tour of Lake cave are $22 per adult and the last tour is 4pm if you want to do this before we go back to town.
