Description
Gnarabup to Boodjinup brook return 9 km, 3 hours approx.
Meet at a car park, The White Elephant cafe or The Common Bar depending on the time of day, as this can be a morning or evening walk.
Reach the Cape to Cape path from Baudin Drive and up along the Leeuwin Ridge through native bush, grass trees, and coming around to face the Indian ocean and the 300 steps that lead down to Boodginup brook, these steps where kindly built by the friends of the cape to cape. At the bottom, there is a lovely shaded area and then cross the bridge (again arranged by the cape to cape friends) then follow the brook to the coast and some lovely picturesque views here of the brook mouth. There is usually a lot of seabird life around here.
Here we turn north and walk back along Gas bay beach, it is a flat firm beach and not bad to walk on. At the end of the beach, we reach some granite rocks a path at the edge, there are a few options here. We can follow along to the next surfing beach and onto the next beach section that leads to stairs (take your shoes off and wade for a while} and around the corner to White elephant cafe, or turn off before the cafe and finish at the Common Bar.
